Welcome to the Blog
Happy Friday friends! Fri-yay!!
Hope you all had a fantastic and productive week! This week has been full, fun, and fabulous along with gathering of facts and experience. It was overflowing; aka brain overload; firing up those neurons and creating new ones! Lots of Zooming!! Attended Zoom University! 🏫 😂 👩💻 learning, listening, thinking, planning, writing, working, connecting, creating, engaging, growing, believing, and encouraging experiences! Sometimes as small business owners we forget about ourselves while we are busy managing our lives. It’s beneficial to continually pursue professional development along with personal growth. Remember to take time for #metime too. It helps boost your morale, increases your self-awareness, your belief in yourself, and “sharpens the tools in your toolbox.” Improving every day with baby steps, moves you forward to bigger things. I struggled with this and learned the hard way and was hoping for quick results in life, personally and professionally. You know it doesn’t work that way. Slow and steady wins the race. Always do your best! “Never settle for anything less than your best.” - @Briantracy You set your goals, take action, don’t be afraid to fail; that’s how you learn, you are willing to take risks, you eat a healthy diet of “humble pie.” "A mistake is valuable if you do four things with it: recognize it, admit it, learn from it, forget it.” - John Wooden “Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.” - John Wooden You improve step by step, one day at a time; sometimes one hour at a time. Do the hard things, the little things; do all the things you need to do for you and your business. At Signature Experience Events, it’s doing small things with great love (loosely paraphrased Mother Teresa quote) while curating and creating gifts of love in a teabox for you and your friends, colleagues and clients. While crafting these unique presents, I imagine how the women will feel and empowered they will be, when they will receive financial support for their businesses and families. Which teas, tasty treats and tea accessories will you order your #teabox to sip and savour while you are learning, working, zooming and/or relaxing in your personal metime? Share your thoughts, talents and tidbits of wisdom with us! What tools do you have and/or use in your professional toolbox? ❤️ 💕 💓 💝 🎁 😃 🤗 🍵 ☕️ 🍷 🎂 🍰 🧁🍯 🕯 💐 #tea #afternoontea #teatime #alwaystimefortea #tealover #thetealady #spreadingjoy #metime #taketimeforyou #friday #friyay #fridaymood #fridayvibes #linkinbio #humble #create #donate #gifts #learn #goals #dowhatyoulove #celebratethespecialmoments #seecommunity #womeninbusiness #smallbusinessowner #supportsmallbusiness #bossladies #fraservalley #yvr @iamtrangdoan @olenka_sergienko @sh.vets 📷 by Samson Katt 📷 by Taryn Elliott

Ideas and Tips for your next outdoor boutique event! 💡 💭
Setting the scene for your party: The outdoor season is here! Yeah! The sun and warm air are luring us outside and you have the perfect reason to host a boutique garden or patio party! ☀️ 🎉 A garden party should ideally be held in a beautiful setting like your garden or backyard, a scenic park or community garden. A tranquil setting surrounded by flowers, flowering shrubs and trees and plants with flowers and/or even vegetables. Ensure you choose a spot with shade so you and your guests can enjoy comfortably without the heat. Look for trees that spread a lot of shade, an arbor that is covered with grapevines and tall hedges or canopies and tents. 🌲 🌳 Theme: Choose a reason and a theme for your party. Your ideas and planning will be easier. You can align it with the menu, venue and even the dress code. It can be afternoon tea, bbq with friends, girl’s night out at the movies, casual backyard bbq, birthday or your important milestone. How about an “unquarantine” party for some fun?! 😂 Invitations: Send hand-written or typed invitations for an extra special touch. Send them via regular mail. 📫 A tactile invitation: a real hold-in-your-hands envelope ✉️ has a much higher opening rate than an email invitation. Whether you choose, snail mail or email, ensure you send your invitations well in advance, so your guests receive them and reply in a timely manner. This helps you with your planning. Ensure your invitations are informative; tell your guests and friends, the occasion, dress code, (if applicable) and if they need to bring anything or not. Decorations: Your garden party will be beautiful as is in a nature setting. If you choose to add to your setting, you can order decorations for rent, buy, or borrow, and/or craft your own. What if you host a crafting party with your friends?! That will be lots of fun! Whether you choose, simple or fancy, it will look lovely and unique. Take some clear glasses or vases and fill them with flowers and/or sprigs of fresh herbs. These will delight your guests' visual and olfactory senses. You can visit some of our local thrift stores and you will find a wide variety of well-priced, unique items to decorate. For flowers, you can choose one kind of flower or several different varieties. Think of sweet peas, peonies, petunias, roses, ranunculus, geraniums, heather, sunflowers, or fuchsias. Add hanging baskets for varying heights of your floral decor. 💐 🪴 You can use outdoor lighting if your event goes into the evening. This adds a festive touch to your party and provides light to the patio, walkways, and yard. 💡 When adding linens, choose a colour or two that combine well with the outdoor theme. Think colours of blue, green, red, and yellow, like the sky, the trees, the flowers, and the sun. Add some appeal by placing your decorations on varying heights of small tables, tiered stands, wooden crates, or hay bales. Hang some embellishments in the greenery nearby to dazzle the eyes as they sway in the breeze. 👀 💨 Set up and use comfy chairs, and an assortment of pillows, which can go with your theme. Ensure there are enough, even more than enough seating, before your party begins so your guests and friends will feel welcome and comfortable. 🪑 Planning a menu: Food and catering is a very important consideration for your event. What’s a party without food?!! Your menu should be planned at the very least, one week before your event so you have time to shop and prepare for what you will need. When you choose a more formal event, with more guests and a larger outdoor gathering, the caterer and planner will require a minimum of one month in advance. Always keep your guests in mind. Be sure you ask your friends about allergies and/or dietary concerns, so you can advise your caterer and planner. 🥘 🍗 Prepare! Prepare your outdoor living area well before your guests arrive so that it is ready, and you can relax and focus on welcoming them. Clean, clean, clean!! Declutter your space where you envision your party will be. Think of past events you’ve attended where things were out of place, untidy or caused you pesky grievances, so you can avoid these from happening to guests at your party. You want to make a positive impression and a welcoming, memorable experience and ambiance. Make sure the lawn is cut, weeds are pulled, low-hanging limbs are trimmed and repair any fences or gates that may need some TLC. Clear eaves, sweep away any cobwebs and hide the garbage cans. Remove garden hoses and supplies, toys, pet beds and anything else that is unsightly, and/or possibly hazardous, not in line with the atmosphere you are aiming to present. 😊 You also want to ensure your guests don’t go home with unpleasant memories because of bug bites or sunburn. Nothing will make your guests more “buggy” and crabby than having to swipe and swat away at annoying, buzzing and stinging insects. Bug off bugs!! Buy and/or make your own repellant and pest control. If you choose natural, use bay leaves, cloves, basil, sage, and peppermint, by scattering them and plant or place potted marigolds around. Have a small, discreetly placed, away from food; supply of bug spray, hand sanitizer, individual wipes, SPF lotion or spray, band aids, kleenex, Polysporin and Advil just in case. ⛑ Plan, plan, plan! 🗓 ✍️ 💻 Have a plan! Yes, it does require effort and work. 😪 It is worth it when you have a successful and fun gathering with your special people. 😃 Set a budget. 💵 Discuss plans, ideas, and details with your planner. Always expect the unexpected and be prepared. Have a backup plan. The better and more prepared you are, the better you will prevent unfortunate occurrences, and the more you will relax, enjoy, and celebrate. 🎉 The happy feelings and wonderful sensations you will enjoy throughout your event and the memories you will create are priceless! 😃 The most important are: PLAN! CLEAN! HAVE FUN! CELEBRATE! RELAX! Thank you for reading these tips! Thoroughly enjoyed a TEA-rrific Tuesday yesterday! 🤩 A fantastic, frolicsome, and fulfilling day! It was double the pleasure with two purple-loving, fun Stefs! First things first; a fabulous, fun morning session with @scobeautygrp What a beau-TEA she is. She amplified my natural beauty and appearance making it more beau-TEA-ful with her magic touch and pure and pretty products. The time was finally right and worked for everyone’s schedules. 🗓 Then in the afternoon, it was off to the beach, one of my most Favourite! Happy! Places! The Beach, the Ocean! Time to part-TEA! 🌊 🏖 @thevioletstef used her creativi-TEA taking photographs while I frolicked and focused. It was definitely my cup of TEA! We laughed a lot, shared hilarious humour and playful puns, while walking along the beach. No need to be salt-TEA when you’re having tons of fun dancing in the sun! (and wind!) ☀️ Music, dance, books and writing are also absolute favourites for this #tealady 🎼 🎸 🎹 💃 📚 ✍️ I often thought in the past, “I don’t take good pictures” and didn’t want to show my face. 🤦♀️ It is clear to see 👀 (another pun) 😉 in these photos that I was not hesitant or afraid at all. I put on my “awesome belt” and my “happy pants” and enjoyed an exhilarating experience with Stef! 💪 Imagined being in a tropical location, Margarita in hand and dancing my heart out to the vibrant, lively local Caribbean and Mexican music. Really miss travelling and going to live concerts. Bon Jovi, Elton John, Bryan Adams, ZZ Top and more...come back to #vancouver! So now you know, there are more things to me than tea. :-) 🏝 🏖 🌊 💃 🎸 🥁 🎹 Did you know? Music and Tea pairs well together. It’s a thing for real. You can enjoy and pair a playful song while sipping your playful brew. Perhaps some Pretty in Purple Lavender Chamomile for relaxation, Zing in Your Step Lemon Yerba Mate for energy, Mighty Mint Green Tea for focus, Candied Pineapple Ginger Green Rooibos for happiness, or Deep Breath Rooibos Tulsi for confidence. Do you know what day it is today? Aside from the beginning of your week? Today is National Margarita Day!! Yay! Do Margaritas and the mere thought of them conjure up images and make you think of parties, beaches, Mexican Restaurants, Fiestas, the Caribbean and often - Jimmy Buffet and Margaritaville?! The song that became popular in 1977 that spoke of life in the tropics and a life of escapism, which catapulted Jimmy to national fame. You probably have the words memorized and are you tapping your toes to it right now?! 💃 🕺 Every year on February 22 is National Margarita Day. A good reason to relish in, imbibe and savour the flavours (responsibly) of this exceptionally popular drink, don’t you think? Nvm “When life hands you lemons”...”When life hands you limes, make margaritas! “The Margarita is the most famous and frequently consumed tequila cocktail in the world.” according to Ivar De Lange, Master Bartender at Lucas Bols. It is definitely my most favourite tequila cocktail! According to an article in Thrillist, as of August 2016, there were 3.4 million #margarita hashtags on Instagram! Today it’s 7.1 million!! It’s the beverage you serve and enjoy for happy moments in your life. Apparently, people view Margarita drinkers as energetic, outgoing, and free-spirited. Or is that the tequila talking? 😂 The Margarita is a version of the “Daisy Cocktail” Margaritas can be served shaken with ice...“on the rocks”...blended with ice,...“frozen”...or without ice...straight up.” So, you may have noticed the picture from last Friday’s post...scroll down and look...it’s the one with the mug that says “Breakfast Wine” 😂 Chai Spice is in my mug this morning for real. Black tea, cinnamon, ginger root, cinnamon, flavour, allspice, clove bud oil, nutmeg and cardamom oil. That’s the only spicy drink for me during the day. 😉 Have you heard about the “British Breakfast Margarita”?? Here’s a recipe for you: Ingredients 2 oz. Herradura Silver Large Bar Spoon of Apricot Jam ¾ oz. Lime Juice ¼ oz. Simple Syrup Directions: Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker; shake hard and pour into an ice filled old fashioned glass. Garnish with kumquats (in season), apricots and a mint sprig. There are a wide variety of Margarita beverages since the drink first became popular back in 1938. My favourite flavour is the original one; Lime Margarita! Lots of Tequila and Lime and minimal to no salt. What is your favourite flavour of Margarita? If you could travel, where would you enjoy your “te-kil-ya?” I mean Margarita! 😝 Drop your favourite flavours and places you would love to enjoy this popular drink! 😃 😃 🍵 ☕️ 🍷 🍹 ♥️ 💕 🎉 🎊 💃 🕺 🏝 🏖 🌊 🇲🇽 🇩🇴 🇨🇷 🇯🇲 🇹🇨 #happy #cheers #beverage #tequila #margarita #margaritaday #nationalmargaritaday #margaritamonday #mynamesake #tea #afternoontea #teatime #timefortea #alwaystimefortea #thetealady #spreadingjoy #gifts #donate #givingback #teaboxes #linkinbio #langley #langleybusiness #womeninbusiness #smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #supportlocal #bossladies #fraservalley #yvr 📷 @herradurateq @thespruceeats @jimmybuffett @ritamargaritafarmer 2/21/2021 0 Comments Self Care Sunday!Hi friends!
Hope you’ve enjoyed some real good R & R and positive vibes this weekend! #selfcaresunday started on Friday pour moi! I had a relaxing massage (I added on a facial) at a local Spa. Y’all gotta go and enjoy this well-spent #metime for you! It’s good for the soul, body and mind. Thank you kindly to @langleychamber and @simplyspa for this fabulous prize I won in a #giveaway a few weeks before Christmas! Saturday was morning #sunshine therapy and then garden therapy for this flower lover! The drizzly rain in the afternoon did not deter me from planting a few bright pops of colour, Primulas, in a few garden beds. You can see my cat “Pepper” supervising. Lol Well not really, she was a little sleepy, though she follows me everywhere I go and to the other animals when I’m outside @ritamargaritafarmer Of course, it wouldn’t be the weekend without wine therapy! This afternoon, it’s been reading time, listening to music and prepping for the upcoming week. How about you? What have you enjoyed this weekend? Let’s hear it! Did you know? 🙋♀️ I am a lover of tea, coffee and wine! Especially red wine! 🍷Oh and Margaritas too!! 🍹 According to the Mayo Clinic, a trusted resource - “Red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy. The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks.” “Antioxidants in red wine called polyphenols may help protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart. A polyphenol called resveratrol is one substance in red wine that's gotten attention for its health benefits. Alcohol itself may have some protective effects when consumed in moderation.” Check the #linkinbio for a Rose Cacao Latte you can enjoy before you pour your other choices. What do you drink when it’s cold outside, you feel chilly and/or a little “under the weather?” “If you are cold, tea will warm you…” said William Ewart Gladstone (1809 – 1898) You may not be a tea drinker; although when you drink a nice, hot cup of tea, it will comfort you, warm you, make you feel good and soothe your sore throat. The warmth you will feel and the numerous health benefits, including antioxidants will be worthwhile for you. You and your health are worth it. Tea is known to fend off colds, some viruses and sickness. When you drink liquids, it helps keep your throat from drying out and warm liquids especially, comfort your sore throat, according to the Mayo Clinic. A perfect addition to your cup of tea is honey because it has a natural antibacterial component. Good thing; a cute little jar of honey is included for you in the Valentine’s giveaway.
