“Any age is the perfect age to follow your dream.” @marieforleo Ernestine Shepherd (June 16, 1936) - American bodybuilder who is best known for being, at one point, the oldest competitive female bodybuilder in the world, as declared by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010; as of 2020 she is 84 years old and still an active, albeit no longer competitive, bodybuilder. She began taking aerobics classes at age 56, after years of avoiding exercise. She has won two bodybuilding titles, and run nine marathons, since this age. She is the leader of seniors exercise classes at the Union Memorial United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and a personal trainer. She is the author of “Determined, Dedicated, Disciplined To Be Fit”, published in 2016, at the age of 80. All this, because of a church picnic she was invited to with her sister, when she was in her 50’s! At age 71, she began working with a trainer. She was ready for her first bodybuilding show after seven months. She won first place! Since that time and each day, she lives by and teaches a mantra: “determined, dedicated, disciplined to be fit.” Listen to your dreams. They matter. Your purpose matters. Your voice matters. My voice matters. I intrinsically know what my passions and dreams are! I have achieved some dreams and I am working on achieving more dreams! You can achieve your dreams and fulfil your purpose too!
