For you! A few helpful tips for your outdoor garden or patio experience! 😊
Setting the scene for your party: Summer is just a few days away! Yeah! The sun and warmer air are luring us outside; you have the perfect reason to host a party! ☀️ 😎 A garden party should ideally be held in a beautiful setting like your backyard, a scenic park or community garden. A tranquil setting surrounded by flowers, shrubs, trees and plants with flowers and even vegetables. Choose a spot with shade so you and your guests will enjoy comfortably without the heat. Look for trees that spread a lot of shade, an arbor covered with grapevines, tall hedges or canopies. 🌸 🌺 💐 Choose a theme and a reason for your party. Your ideas and planning will be easier. It can be afternoon tea, bbq with friends, girls night out at the movies, birthday or your important milestone. 🎉 Send hand-written/typed invitations for an extra special touch. Send them regular mail. A real hold-in-your-hands envelope has a much higher opening rate than an email. Whichever you choose, ensure you send them well in advance, so your guests receive and reply in a timely manner. Tell your friends, the occasion, dress code, (if applicable) and if they need to bring anything. 🎉 📫 Your garden party will be beautiful as is in a nature setting. If you choose to add to your area, you can order decorations for rent, buy, borrow or craft your own. Whether you choose, simple or fancy, it will look lovely. Take some clear glasses or vases and fill them with flowers and/or sprigs of fresh herbs. These will delight your guests' visual and olfactory senses. Visit local thrift stores and you’ll find a variety of well-priced, unique items. For flowers, you can choose one kind of flower or several varieties. Add hanging baskets for varying heights of colour. 🌳 🌱 🌹 🌻 Use outdoor lighting, if your event goes into the evening. This adds a festive touch and provides light to your patio, walkways and yard. 💡 When adding linens, choose a colour or two that combine well with an outdoor theme. Think colours of blue, green, red and yellow, like the sky, trees, flowers and sun. Add some appeal by placing your decorations on varying heights of small tables, tiered stands, wooden crates or hay bales. Hang some embellishments in the greenery nearby to dazzle the eyes as they sway in the breeze. Set up comfy chairs, and an assortment of pillows, which can go with your theme. Ensure there are enough, even more than enough, before your party begins so your guests will feel welcome and comfortable. 😌 Food is an important consideration for your event. What’s a party without food?!! Your menu should be planned at the very least, one week before so you have time to shop and prepare. When you choose a formal event, with more guests, your caterer will require a minimum of 1 month notice in advance. Always keep your guests in mind. Be sure you ask your friends about allergies and/or dietary concerns, so you can let the caterer know. PLAN! HAVE FUN! CELEBRATE! RELAX! 😃 🥂 Follow and stay tuned for more tips coming soon!
